Greenhouse planning
Build a project budget that includes the site, equipment, installation, and first season.

A kit price is useful for comparing packages. A complete project budget is useful for deciding whether you are ready to buy. Keep the two figures separate until you know what each supplier includes.
Ask for a written list covering the frame, glazing, doors, vents, fasteners, base, and anchoring components. Mark each item as included, optional, or supplied by you. Add freight, tax, unloading arrangements, and any limits on delivery access. Two similar headline prices can represent different amounts of finished work.
List site preparation, the required foundation, assembly labor, and tools or rentals. Ask who will do each job and what information they need to quote it. Then add benches, storage, watering equipment, and any utility installation. Obtain local quotes for electrical work rather than treating a nearby outlet as a completed power plan.
Ventilation exchanges inside and outside air; circulating fans move air within the greenhouse. They serve different purposes. Work out the ventilation, shading, and any heating equipment appropriate to your plants, structure, and climate with the supplier or a qualified specialist.
Heating costs depend on the temperature you maintain, local weather, construction, and exposed surface area. Seals and the insulating performance of the covering also affect heat loss. Avoid relying on someone else's monthly bill without knowing their conditions.
Include energy, water, growing supplies, routine maintenance, and likely replacement parts. Ask about warranty coverage and whether common parts remain available. Keep a contingency reserve suited to the unanswered questions in your own project.
Before choosing a kit, write one final number for the complete installation and a separate estimate for seasonal running costs. If either number feels uncomfortable, revisit the growing goals or the scope before placing the order.
